Sustainable Green Program for the next generation

It was an exciting experience to conduct the Sustainable Green Program for the students in SJK (C) Li Tek at Lintang Macallum, Penang. It was our honour to be working with Madam Hoor, the principal of SJK (C) Li Tek, the program reaches out to 100 students, educating them on the importance of food waste compost and achieving a circular economy by using the vertical compost tower (VCT).

Besides delivering the educational talk, the exciting part was having the students install the vertical compost tower (VCT). Through this, as a team, they learn how the VCT works in composting the food waste, and eventually, the food waste compost will become the nutrients to fertilize the plants. From repurposing the food waste to achieving circular economy by planting vegetables using the VCT, the students were excited to embark on this food waste compost journey and look forward to their first harvest.

Through the Sustainable Green Program, we hope to instil good characteristics such as being responsible consumers and carrying the burden of preserving our environment for our mother earth in the next generation. So that they will continue to play a significant role to achieve the SDG goals for our nation.

Here we look forward to continuing to bring the Sustainable Green Program to more schools in Malaysia.
