BOLATHON 2022 celebrates charitable cause in the aura of 200K Gaharu Trees

HOPE worldwide Malaysia’s 5th BOLATHON – BOLATHON Gaharu Charity Run & Masquerade Walk was held successfully on 23 October 2022 at the HOGA Gaharu Tea Valley, located in Gopeng, Perak, slightly 30 minutes away from Ipoh city. This is the first time HOPE worldwide Malaysia has organized such a running event outside of Kuala Lumpur. Still, it assembled close to 400 participants, from corporate company participants, regular runners, volunteers, family and children, who participated in both 5KM Trail Run and 3KM Masquerade Walk.

BOLATHON 2022 has raised a total of RM 60,000 for Persatuan Kebajikan HOPE worldwide Malaysia’s community programs that focus on the core needs of low-income families and marginalized communities, in the areas of Health, Food and Education. The funds were raised through individual participants’ registration through the Ticket2U Platform and Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) initiatives by various companies. Besides sponsoring their staff to participate in the run, some companies sponsored their products as goodies, masquerade contest prizes and lucky draw prizes. The event also gathered over 60 volunteers as a working crew to support the event.

The participants get to run and walk in the Gaharu Tea Plantation which is known for releasing negative ions that can neutralize free radicals, revitalize cell metabolism, and enhance immune function. balance the autonomic nervous system, promoting deep sleep and healthy digestion.
Besides being one of the sponsors, a total of 42 Starbucks employees were present in the event, participating in both 5KM Trail Run & 3KM Walk.

Individual Category – Masquerade Contest Winners who received prizes from Ms. Rina Siew, the Head of Sustainability & Social Impact of Starbucks Malaysia. The prizes were sponsored by Starbucks Malaysia and One Living Sdn Bhd.

Participants received their goodies which include – an Adidas drinking bottle, UNIQLO Airism Masks, a Starbucks Beverage Voucher, Himalaya Nourishing Skin Cream, a Magnetic Badge made of Gaharu Tree as a Finisher Medal and a Gaharu Tree Sapling which the participant can bring home to plant.
